RexTrax Recording Studios is located in metro Atlanta (Gwinnett County). We are convenient to the north Georgia area but we have attracted artists from all over the country. Real working musicians and bands know if you are trying to get signed or get a record deal you need to have a professional product. We offer recording and mixing services at a more affordable rate than many other recording studios near Atlanta. We strive to provide the highest quality for every client and every style of music and have some of the most professional engineers around. Please see our staff page for more information.

We are not just another newbie ProTools studio located in someone's home. Our facility is designed with the professional musician in mind and features a host of luxuries that make recording here a pleasurable experience. All of our rooms are tuned for optimal sound enhancement. We have the equipment and the space that the smaller guys just cannot offer. Line of sight ensures that multiple band members can play live simultaneously in separate rooms while maintaining constant visual and verbal contact with each other. Our unique construction makes RexTrax Studios one of Atlanta's finest and most efficient recording studios available for the live musician. Please review our policies on the PAY ONLINE page.
CONTROL ROOM

This room represents the ideal listening environment necessary for an accurate mix. It's large enough to house the band and producers for play back and is equipped with the some of the best gear around, including a comfortable couch. Our solid state Mackie 56/8 buss mixing console is a warmer alternative to many of today's lifeless digital control sufaces. We offer mixing both in and out of the box.

The control room is situated between the guitar room and the live room but does not obstruct the view. Our ProTools HD recording system can deliver up to 96khz recordings. Class A preamps by Presonus, Focusrite, Symetrix or Chameleon Labs insure a clean vocal take. Our industry standard Yamaha NS-10 reference monitors help create a CD quality mix. Event ASP8s and a very accurate 15" Sub Woofer reproduces enhanced stereo sound with boneshaking lows.

GUITAR ROOM

This room was designed with the guitarist in mind and was tuned accordingly. Sound panels can be added to deaden the room or removed for more ambience.

The wedge shape was used to prevent standing waves caused by parallel walls. This room is large enough for up to two performers with amps and is equipped with eight microphone inputs and four headphone jacks.

VOCAL BOOTH

Our vocal booth has been tuned with bass traps, absorbers and diffusers to ensure a flat response when recording voice. It is equipped with two microphone inputs and two headphone jacks to accommodate group vocals or stereo mic placement.

The location of this room allows the singer to see the rest of the band during the performance while maintaining sonic separation.

LIVE ROOM

This is the largest room and is primarily used for recording drums and percussion but can be used for anything. It is shaped like a diamond to prevent unwanted slap back and features birch hardwood flooring and twelve foot notched pine walls. The room has a very live sound that also compliments vocal choir performances very well. It is situated in the rear of the building for ease of loading and has sixteen microphone inputs and four headphone jacks and a seperate sub mixer if needed.

Most bands prefer to record on their own equipment but we do have some in house instruments and amplifiers that are avaiable for use for no extra charge. Check our equipment list page for a complete list. Please be sure to mention it if you think you may need anything.
