Paul Cobb
Paul Cobb is the founding owner and chief engineer of RexTrax Recording Studio and has been recording musicians for over 20 years. He is also the studio's general manager and handles bookings. After attending the DeVry Institute of Technology, Paul graduated from The Atlanta Institute of Music in 1992. He opened RexTrax in 1997. He has overseen it's transition from an analog tape studio, through ADATs, then digital hard disk to our current ProTools HD system. In 2002 he created the design for the current location and took part in it's construction. Paul also has experience on many other recording systems as well as live sound. He has worked with several well know artists and bands over the years and also works occasionally as a freelance engineer at other studios, session guitarist and bassist, and live sound engineer.
Mat Abercrombie
Mat Abercrombie is the assistant manager of RexTrax Recording Studio and has been a dedicated staff engineer with us for 10 years. He graduated with a degree in Recording Arts from the renowned Full Sail University in 2004 and immediately began training under RexTrax founder Paul Cobb. Mat quickly rose to a prominent place in the forefront of the RexTrax family, taking on higher and higher profile clients in a wide array of genres. These days Mat heads up most of the "live band" projects at the studio including recent album and EP work for rock bands such as Verge Of Bliss, Stereo Noise, MuckRaker, Barney's Bullet, and Stone Phoenix, as well as gospel, R&B, Country, Hip Hop, and rap projects for acts such as Steve Ryan, LeRhaun Brilliant, MYT, and Isaiah 54:17. In addition to his work at RexTrax, Mat has interned at the world famous Doppler Studios and Atlanta's Exocet Studios as well as doing freelance audio work for companies such as Tandem Healthcare. He also currently teaches audio production workshops at the local Georgia Perimeter College. A musician himself, Mat prides himself on infusing a keen aesthetic sense and a strong standard of quality and professionalism to every project he works on.
